A new laundry room and porch connects this kitchen renovation to the garden at a lower elevation. The clients wanted feel more connected to the yard and not feel like they were towering above it. The multi-tiered deck breaks down the vertical distance and gradually leads down to the garden. The same siding used for the addition separates to create a solid looking base, but has airspaces to provide ventilation and light to the storage space below.
