kor wanted their new office to be the incarnation of their brand: creative, expressive, colorful, practical and clever. The project, located in a converted mill building, was conceived as a light box in which 2 dimensional kor graphics become 3 dimensional design elements. kor color stripes are used as columns to end walls made from large format graphics the group developed for their own identity package. Because the principals made the decision to give the windows to their employees in the open office plan, the 3 private offices are wrapped in a corrugated translucent plastic to get light into their windowless offices. The work environment is open, bright and collaborative. The kitchen and lounge area are as important as the work areas, as the studio is very interactive and social. The design of these spaces enhances and encourages the working relationship that the kor so highly values.
